Cantina Miglianico, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2022

In 1961 Don Vincenzo Pizzica understood that, to avoid the underestimation of local wine by the large producers, it was necessary to form a cooperative. A few years later, in 1966, the associated farmers began producing the first bottles of Cantina Miglianico, and today they are about 300 winemakers strong, managing over 500 hectares of vineyards in the province of Chieti. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2022 is made using 30 year Montepulciano vines. Ruby red in colour with violet reflections, it is delicately fruity, fresh and intense, with a subtle spicy note. Good intensity with a persistent, slightly tannic, balanced finish. A great informal red to pair with a Sunday roast.
